Set homework for a class, with a due date and submission rules — with real screenshots for every step.

Assignments give students work to submit outside of exam conditions. Here's how to set one up and publish it.

  1. New Assignment dialog filled in with title, instructions, class, subject, term and due date
    01

    Set up the assignment

Go to Assessments → Assignments and click "New Assignment". Give it a title and clear instructions for what students should do, pick the class, subject and term it belongs to, and set a due date. Choose how students should submit — typing an answer directly, or an optional file attachment — and set the maximum score.

  2. Assignments list showing the new assignment as a Draft with its detail panel open
    02

    It's created as a Draft

The assignment appears in your list as a Draft, along with a detail panel showing its due date, max score, submission mode and instructions. Nothing is visible to students yet — this is your chance to review everything first.

  3. Assignment detail panel showing a Published status with a Grade Submissions button
    03

    Publish it

Click "Publish" and the assignment becomes visible to students in that class, who can now submit their work before the due date. From this same panel you can track and grade submissions as they come in.
